Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the WRC Community platform (the "Service"), operated by Wilmington Reformed Church, an Orthodox Presbyterian Church (OPC) congregation located at 550 Virginia Cir, Wilmington, OH 45177. By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Who May Use the Service

The WRC Community platform is intended for members, regular attenders, and invited guests of Wilmington Reformed Church. Accounts are created by church staff or by self-registration followed by admin approval. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity under it. Authentication is passwordless — we send sign-in links by email and, optionally, 6-digit codes by text message (SMS). If you believe your account has been accessed without your permission, contact the church office immediately.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Post content that is unlawful, harassing, defamatory, or promotes violence
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with the church
• Upload malicious software or attempt to compromise the Service
• Use the Service for commercial advertising unrelated to church ministry
• Share confidential pastoral or prayer-chain content outside the intended audience

Church leadership reserves the right to remove content and deactivate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Text Message (SMS) Communications

SMS is always optional. You can use every feature of the Service — including signing in, receiving notifications, and giving — entirely by email without ever providing a phone number.

When you opt in to text messages, Wilmington Reformed Church may send:

• Sign-in codes: A one-time 6-digit code when you request to sign in using your phone number. Consent is given each time you tap "Text Me a Code" on the login page. Alternative: sign in by email, always available on the same page.
• Group notifications: When a new post or comment is made in a church group you belong to, if you have checked the "SMS" box for that group on the Notification Preferences page. Consent is given per-group via that checkbox. Alternative: email and in-app notifications, which are always available.

Message frequency varies based on how often you sign in and how active your groups are. A typical member receives fewer than 10 messages per week.

Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan. Wilmington Reformed Church does not charge for SMS; your carrier may.

Reply STOP to any message from us to unsubscribe from all further SMS. Your group notification preferences will be automatically set to email-only. Reply HELP for assistance, or contact us at the email below.

Phone numbers are used only to deliver the messages described above. They are transmitted to our SMS delivery provider (Twilio) for the sole purpose of message delivery. We do not share, sell, or rent phone numbers to third parties for marketing or any other purpose.

5. Giving and Donations

Online gifts are processed by Stripe, Inc. Wilmington Reformed Church does not store credit-card or bank-account numbers on its own servers. Wilmington Reformed Church is a tax-exempt religious organization; gifts may be tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. We issue annual giving statements via email to donors who have provided one.

6. Content You Post

You retain ownership of anything you post. You grant Wilmington Reformed Church a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display your posts within the Service to other authorized users. Posts may be visible only to specific groups you post in, or church-wide when you choose.

7. Account Termination

You may request deletion of your account by emailing the church office. We may deactivate accounts for violations of these Terms. Upon deactivation, your posts may remain visible for historical context but your account is removed from active use.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. While we take reasonable care to keep the Service secure and available, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Wilmington Reformed Church is not liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
